Starting out as a shelter caring for abandoned babies and mothers in 1877, Berry Street is now Victoria’s largest independent child and family services organisation.
Berry Street provides a huge range of children’s services from the physical protection of providing safe homes and accommodation through to the emotional healing from trauma and rebuilding lives through education, training and opportunity.
Protecting and rescuing children from bad domestic situations is of such importance to the community that the team at the Richmond branch of Commonwealth Bank have voted Berry Street as their $10,000 CommBank Centenary Grant recipients.
Richmond Branch is also supporting the Berry Street Christmas gift appeal this year, helping provide 50 presents for children and young people in need.
In celebration of our 100-year legacy of employee giving, Commonwealth Bank donated $10 million to CommBank Foundation for our employees to give to community organisations in 1000 Centenary Grants valued at $10,000 each.
